EMERGENCIES
In recent years, fundraising activities aimed at securing resources to address situations of particular emergency have been added to the Foundation’s traditional areas of activity.
In 2021, €878,842 were raised to address the Covid-19 pandemic. The funds were used to support hospitals and frontline actors in the areas of Bergamo, Brescia, Milan, Cremona, Genoa, Naples and Treviso, both through direct donations and through the purchase of equipment (ventilators), serological tests and protective equipment for medical staff. Within this framework, international contacts were also activated to facilitate the import of materials (from China, Thailand and Switzerland) in the absence of availability within the national territory.
Following the humanitarian emergency that arose in Ukraine in 2022, Fondazione Pesenti ETS responded to the appeal of UNHCR – the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, committing to a series of significant donations and promoting a fundraising campaign that also involved Italmobiliare and the companies of the Group. The initiative, which engaged 170 private individuals and 20 companies, has made it possible to raise over €380,000 to date.
In 2023, following the devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey, the Foundation responded to the appeal launched by UNHCR and promoted an initiative of collective participation. The fundraising campaign brought together a range of stakeholders united by a shared objective.
The Portfolio Companies of the Italmobiliare Group reaffirmed their commitment by contributing €150,000. Private donors demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility, contributing €13,650, while the Foundation’s Charity Committee completed the initiative with a donation of €50,000.
