The first edition of REACTION, il Festival delle Buone Notizie, took place in Bergamo on Saturday, December 2. The event was organized by Visionary Bergamo, based on a format conceived and curated by Guarda.
Supported by Fondazione Pesenti ETS, REACTION is the first good news festival in Italy. It was hosted at gres art 671, the new cultural hub of Italmobiliare—a dynamic and inspiring space designed to promote the growth and development of new generations through cultural and creative initiatives.
An evening event created for 500 participants under the age of 30, the festival featured 10 good news stories, each presented by a special guest speaker. The event was opened by Daniela Hamaui, journalist, author, and board member of Fondazione Pesenti.
Each talk began with a reaction to a real event, in a style reminiscent of the popular reaction videos on social media. At the end of each speech, the audience became an integral part of the show, actively participating with questions, comments, and reactions. These interactions formed the basis for the subsequent Q&A sessions and entertainment moments.
The success of the event was summed up in the words of Giorgio Gori, Mayor of Bergamo: «“I believe there is a general sense of pessimism, between the climate crisis and wars. But I, too, want to talk about good news, because there’s a risk that you may have a distorted view of the times in which we—yes, all of us—were born. I truly believe we are living in the best period in human history, and this country needs you. We need people who want to improve their own lives ».
