Beatrice is sharing with us month by month her amazing experience abroad, thanks to the year-long Intercultura program in the USA.
I have found some fantastic friends; I couldn’t have asked for better. We spend a lot of time together and often help each other with homework. I’ve also made friends with other exchange students, and it’s amazing to discover how different cultures are.
Relationships with the host family:
I believe I’ve been super, super lucky. My host mom is very similar to me; we both have strong personalities, and often for this reason, we have small arguments, but in the end, we always solve them and become even closer.
Relationships with the host community and friends:

School integration and academic progress, both in terms of grades and relationships with teachers and classmates:
American school is much easier than Italian school. Since we have the same subjects every day, we never have a lot of homework. I get along very well with my classmates, but the semester is ending, and soon all my classes will change.
Extracurricular activities:
For the fall season, I joined the cross country team and became passionate about running. I decided to continue this passion, and now I’m part of Winter Running. Even though it’s very cold, I always have a lot of fun.
The 3 things I will never forget (positive):
Once I was invited to a party, and when I arrived, there was only Italian food cooked in my honor.
The legendary Black Friday — that day was super, super fun.

The 3 things I will never forget (negative, if any):
Currently, I have nothing negative to report. Just some normal arguments, like any typical teenager, with my host family.
Other (anecdotes, reflections, thoughts):
I thank everyone again for this great opportunity. I’m living every moment, and time is absolutely flying by.
