Relationship with the host family:
In my new family, I have a dad, a mom, and two brothers. They welcomed me warmly, are very kind and affectionate, and made me feel part of their family. I also met many of their relatives, who are also very nice.

Relationship with the host community and friends:
In the first days, it was difficult to express myself in the new language and get used to the daily routine. Now everything feels more familiar, I am opening up more and trying to make new friends. Every day I learn something new and meet people.

School integration and progress, both academically and socially with teachers and students:
During the first days of school, integration was quite difficult. Over time things improved, and now I have quite a few friends. The teachers are very good and above all, human. I have only one grade, in math, and it’s an A!

Extracurricular activities:
Since August 26th, I have been playing soccer every weekday. This sport gives me the chance to meet new people and interact with them outside school. We are a very united team, and that makes me very happy.

Three things I will never forget (positive):
The welcome from my host parents, the two weekends spent together with all the relatives at Lake James where my host mom’s parents have a house, and finally, the excitement of greatly improving in a language I had always struggled with.

Three things I will never forget (negative, if any):
I have only one thing here: the difficulty of expressing what you really think because of the language barrier. This happened especially during the first days of my stay.

Other (anecdotes, reflections, balance):
Thank you very much for this opportunity you have given me. Thanks Intercultura and thanks Fondazione. I am learning a lot through this experience and every day is a new discovery. Thanks again, talk soon!
