2nd quarter: December 2017
3rd quarter: March 2018
I get along very well with my host family. I feel part of the family, and we spend most of the time together. A beautiful relationship has formed that will last forever, and I am very happy with my experience.
Relationship with the host family:
I get along very well with my host family. I feel part of the family, and we spend most of the time together. A beautiful relationship has formed that will last forever, and I am very happy with my experience.
Relationship with the host community and friends:
I have many friends and I am doing a lot of sports. It has been wonderful to fully integrate. Making new friends is always difficult, and you always have to take the first step. Through sports (skiing), I have the chance to communicate with many people.
School integration and academic progress, both in terms of grades and personal relationships with teachers and classmates:
Everything is going well at school. The grades are obviously very high and easy to get. However, it is great to study in English. The teachers are really “human”: very open to everyone and a good relationship is built. Everything is fine with classmates.
Extracurricular activities:
Skiing. I really like it a lot. I train every day and there are also some guys from the U.S. ski team. It’s very productive and keeps me in great shape. It also gives me the opportunity to interact a lot with many people.
The 3 things I will never forget (positive):
The first deer that I hunted.
My birthday.
My first day of skiing.
The 3 things I will never forget (negative, if any):
Honestly, it’s hard for me to think of anything negative.
Other (anecdotes, reflections, thoughts):
It’s amazing to see how much independence and awareness I have gained. I feel I could now do everything on my own independently. My language skills have also improved a lot.
