On Monday, December 4, 2017 – Rosy Bindi, former chair of the Anti-Mafia Commission, took part in the event Molte Fedi sotto lo stesso cielo with the speech “Tina Anselmi – Mother of Democracy,” held at the Auditorium Sala Gamma in Torre Boldone.
The initiative was promoted by ACLI Bergamo, with the support of Fondazione Pesenti.
A partisan, then a trade unionist, always engaged in political life and institutions, she was the first female minister in Italian history: Tina Anselmi was a woman who made history in our democracy and Republic. Chair of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the P2 Masonic Lodge—one of the few parliamentary commissions in our history to successfully conclude—she is also remembered for the reform that introduced the National Health Service in Italy.
Rosy Bindi, an Italian politician, like Anselmi, has always been committed as a parliamentarian and as a woman in Italian political life and institutions, indifferent to political noise, always ready for constructive criticism especially on ethical issues; since 2013, she has been President of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission.
