Saturday, October 14 – Cultivating the Future. Blessed are those who will inhabit the earth is the title of the talk by actress Lella Costa and Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food, for the ninth edition of Molte Fedi sotto lo stesso Cielo, supported by Fondazione Pesenti, held at the Church of San Giorgio, Almenno San Salvatore.
This event was organized on the occasion of the G7 on agriculture, which took place in Bergamo in the same days, aiming to show socio-cultural development and globalization from another perspective—that of gastronomy.
Caring for creation today is a fundamental issue of our time, perhaps the most important, perhaps the least noticed by politics and least felt by a humanity too much turned inward; but caring for the environment means caring for the men and women who inhabit it and are its custodians.
Lella Costa is one of the most beloved Italian authors and actresses, favored by the audience of Molte Fedi. Her career, marked by strong civil commitment, has brought her to the main stages in Italy. A longtime supporter of Slow Food, in 2014 she wrote Minestrine for Slow Food Editore, celebrating through storytelling a democratic dish with great evocative and consoling power.
Carlo Petrini is the founder of the cultural movement Slow Food, an international non-profit association that promotes a new food model respectful of the environment, traditions, and cultural identities. In 2004 he received the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, and in 2016 he became Special Ambassador of the FAO in Europe for Zero Hunger.
