Together with Costa Family Foundation for the protection of human rights

In continuity with past years, Fondazione Pesenti stands alongside the Costa Family Foundation and its mission to safeguard human rights.

Since 2007, the Costa Family Foundation, a non-profit organization, has been committed to protecting human rights around the world through projects aimed at combating political repression, illiteracy, extreme poverty, and the denial of fundamental rights. This is achieved through cooperation and psychological, social, educational, and health-related support. The Foundation develops small, long-term projects to support individuals and communities in their growth and development, with the ultimate goal of helping them achieve independence.

The Costa Family Foundation is currently active in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Uganda, and Togo. Fondazione Pesenti’s support is not tied to a specific project but rather to the overall ongoing activities.

In previous years of collaboration, Fondazione Pesenti’s contributions have focused in particular on two projects in Afghanistan.

“A goat for an Afghan woman” (2022): this initiative provided concrete support to widowed and vulnerable women, with the primary goal of fostering the economic and social empowerment of women and the most disadvantaged families.

The project is an example of how targeted interventions, grounded in a deep understanding of the local context, can not only alleviate poverty but also lay the foundation for self-sufficiency and dignity. The Costa Family Foundation continues to believe in these “seeds of hope” that transform lives.

“A women-led saffron cultivation pilot project” (2022): in Herat, Afghanistan, 12 women cultivate saffron in a protected field monitored 24/7. In this region, education, professional opportunities, and economic autonomy remain elusive goals for many women.

A symbol of hope and commitment, the project creates job opportunities, promotes education, and supports the economic independence of Afghan women.
