BIOGRAPHIES
CARLO PESENTI
Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Management from Bocconi University. Married and father of six children. CEO and General Manager of Italmobiliare S.p.A. In addition to his roles within the Italmobiliare Group, he has served as a Board Member of major publicly listed companies.
GIORGIO BARBA NAVARETTI
Full Professor of Economics at the University of Milan, Distinguished Visiting Faculty at SciencesPo in Paris, Research Fellow at CEPR in London, and Scientific Director of the Luca d’Agliano Study Center. His research focuses on international and development economics, with significant contributions to the literature on multinational enterprises and competitiveness.
DANIELA HAMAUI
Holds a degree in Modern Literature from the University of Milan, professional journalist. The first woman to direct an Italian news magazine (L’Espresso), she created and directed D la Repubblica delle donne, Dcasa, and Album di Repubblica. She was also Editorial Director of Repubblica’s magazines. From May 2017 to the end of 2019, she was Editor-in-Chief of Vanity Fair. Since March 2019, she has been teaching a course on Publishing and Fashion at Naba. Since January 2020, she has been Editorial Consultant for Archivio Magazine. She won the Minerva d’Oro Award in 1999 and the Bellisario Award in 2004.
MARCO IMPERADORI
Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, holder of the Chair of Design and Technological Innovation in the School of Building Engineering-Architecture, and Rector’s Delegate for the Far East. He conducts research and has published books and articles in specialized journals in Italy and abroad, with a particular focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
DONATO MASCIANDARO
Full Professor of Political Economy, he holds the Intesa Sanpaolo Chair in the Economics of Financial Regulation at Bocconi University in Milan. He is also Director of the Baffi Centre for Applied Research on International Markets, Banking, Finance and Regulation at the same university, a Board Member of SUERF – The European Money and Finance Forum, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability.
STEFANO PALEARI
Full Professor at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering at the University of Bergamo. From October 2009 to September 2015, he served as Rector of the University of Bergamo, and from 2013 to 2015 he was President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI). From 2016 to 2018, he chaired the Coordination Committee of Human Technopole.
On May 2, 2017, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers as Special Commissioner of Alitalia. In 2021, he was awarded the title of Knight Grand Cross by President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. Since 2021, he has served as advisor to the Minister of University and Research.
GIULIA PESENTI
Representative of the fifth generation of the Pesenti family, actively engaged in various social initiatives in collaboration with local organizations. Her work focuses on education as a means of integration and female empowerment, youth training (including the humanities as a tool for understanding complexity), and addressing issues related to migration flows.
VERONICA SQUINZI
CEO and Director of Global Development at Mapei Group. She holds numerous positions in both Italian and international organizations and institutions, and serves on several governing boards, including: the General Council of Assolombarda (Vice President with responsibility for Internationalization and Europe since April 2021); the Chamber Council of the Joint Italian Arab Chamber; the Advisory Board of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano; the Board of Directors of ISPI – Italian Institute for International Political Studies; the Board of Fondazione Sodalitas; and the Board of Directors of the E4Impact Foundation. Since 2020, she has also served as Regent with the role of Censor at the Bank of Italy – Milan branch, and as Vice President of the Executive Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy.
SERGIO CRIPPA
Since 2016, Secretary General of the Cav. Lav. Carlo Pesenti Foundation – a Third Sector organization. He is also Senior Advisor for Communication and International Relations at Italmobiliar
He has been with the Italmobiliare group since the 1990s. Previously, he served as Head of Press Office at Eni and Central Director for External Relations at the Mondadori Group. Sergio Crippa is a professional journalist, he holds a degree in Communication Sciences and is a lecturer for the Master’s program in “Media Relations and Corporate Communication” at the Università Cattolica di Milano.
