In 2024, Fondazione Pesenti once again confirmed its support for the Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Association, renewing a partnership that began in 2017 and is rooted in shared values of responsibility and civic engagement.
Among the Association’s most significant initiatives, the Giornata della Virtù Civile (Civil Virtue Day) has become a nationally recognized event. Promoted by the Association under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, the initiative highlights the importance of a just and free society, grounded in constitutional principles.
Over the years, the Day has honored exemplary individuals such as Giorgio Ambrosoli, Libero Grassi, Don Pino Puglisi, Marco Biagi, and Luca Attanasio, renewing a call for citizenship based on conscience, participation, and responsibility.
The 2024 edition, dedicated to the theme of Responsibility and in memory of President Emeritus Giorgio Napolitano, took place at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, marking the sixteenth year of the initiative. The program unfolded over three distinct moments:
In the morning, activities were dedicated to schools: primary and secondary students took part in educational workshops created in collaboration with the Mezzopieno Movement.
In the afternoon, the traditional Giorgio Ambrosoli Lecture was held, introduced by Umberto Ambrosoli and Donato Masciandaro, and moderated by Ferruccio de Bortoli.
In the evening, the day concluded with a musical performance by the Milan Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Jader Bignamini.
2024 also marked a significant expansion of the project, with events held in Rondine (Tuscany), Turin (Piedmont), and Palermo (Sicily)—a testament to the growing and widespread commitment to promoting the civic values that are the foundation of democracy.
