Noemi’s story: from Lovere-Boario to Cleveland Heights (USA) for a year, with Intercultura and the support of the Pesenti Foundation.
The journey continues!
1st Quarter: September 2018
2nd Quarter: December 2018
2ND QUARTER: SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER 2018
Month to month, Noemi tells us about her experience abroad, thanks to the annual Intercultura program in the USA.
Relationships with the host family:
Things with my host family are still unsteady. There doesn’t seem to be any family warmth, it seems more like sharing a house than living in a family.
Relationships with the host community and friends:
The host community is very friendly and supportive. I have made some good friends, though sometimes they are absent.
Inclusion and school performance, both from a profit point of view and from personal relationships with teachers and students:
School was hard at the beginning, but it got better. Teachers are always kind and helpful.
Extracurricular activities:
During the first two months I played in the tennis team. Now, I’m thinking about playing athletics or lacrosse.
With my Singing class I took part in the musical “Mary Poppins”.
The 3 things I will never forget (positive):
The beauty and the wonder of taking part in the musical “Mary Poppins”.
The ice-hockey matches.
My Singing class.
The 3 things I will never forget (negative, if there are):
The instability of my family situation.
My sense of often feeling alone.
The embarrassment for getting myself in this situation.
