On Thursday, May 24, the abbot of Sant’Ambrogio, Mons. Carlo Faccendini, blessed the Italian inscription “Non di solo pane” (“Not by bread alone”) originating from the Holy See Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, which was installed in the courtyard of the basilica’s oratory with the support of Fondazione Pesenti.
The celebration took place in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio, at the beginning of the Marian procession with the children who had just completed the annual catechism program.
With this inauguration, the “Journey of the Word” reaches its ninth stage—this long itinerary, promoted by the Pontifical Council for Culture and Caritas Ambrosiana, aims to revive the message of the Church at the Universal Exposition Beyond Expo, through the recovery and relocation of the metal letters that were on the façades of the Vatican Pavilion.
