On stage, the Mariinsky  Orchestra,  one of the oldest musical ensembles in Russia. Since 1988 , the Mariinsky  has been conducted by  Valery Gergiev. Thanks to his leadership, the Mariinsky Theatre has become one of the most important concert and theatrical complexes in the world.

Valery Gergiev is also founder and director of prestigious international festivals; in particular, since 2011 he has been directing the organizing committee of the International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Accompanying the Russian orchestra was  Federico Colli, a young talent from Brescia who took  his first  steps precisely at the Festival and who, in December 2017, performed with the Festival Philharmonic in the world premiere of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

Lightness, sensuality, and despair. Three colors for three great composers in one extraordinary concert conducted by Valery Gergiev. On the program were the two central composers of the 55th Festival, Tchaikovsky and Debussy, with two of their best-known and most beloved pieces, plus the virtuosic Rach 3.
