Fondazione Pesenti and International Heart School

Fondazione Pesenti reaffirms its commitment to emerging countries in the global fight against cardiovascular diseases by renewing its support for International Heart School. This concrete commitment is reflected in the awarding of a scholarship for the Master’s program in Cardiac Surgery “International Master of Cardiology and Techniques Applied to Cardiac Surgery” to students from developing countries.

In the past, the Foundation has already supported International Heart School by awarding scholarships to professionals from countries with inadequate hospital infrastructure, offering them the opportunity to enhance their expertise in cardiac surgery and contribute to improving healthcare quality in their local communities.

The Master’s in Cardiac Surgery, coordinated by the University of Bergamo and the University of Milano-Bicocca, is part of the International Heart School — an organization with over 30 years of experience in building a global network of expertise in this field. The program offers participants a unique opportunity to expand and refine their knowledge and skills in an environment of excellence, guided by internationally renowned faculty.

The 2023–2024 academic year, which began in November 2023, includes 12 medical students from 7 different countries. These professionals will have the chance to share their experiences and learn the latest techniques and technologies in cardiac surgery. Their training will help improve access to quality healthcare in challenging contexts where the lack of qualified medical personnel remains a significant barrier to public health.
