gres art 671 Opens in Bergamo, a New Center for Art and Culture

gres art 671, a new center for art and culture in Bergamo, was inaugurated thanks to the initiative of the Italmobiliare Group, owner of the area, together with Fondazione Pesenti.

gres art is a meeting place that reconnects an area with Bergamo’s city center and cultural life. The identifying number “671,” chosen with reference to the state road bordering the Gres site, already symbolizes in the project’s name the strong connection between the new space, the city, and the territory.

“This project adds a precious new piece to the city we have envisioned,” said Bergamo’s Mayor, Giorgio Gori. A city that no longer grows by expanding and encroaching on green spaces but through the revitalization of what has been, giving unused areas a new purpose and future. A city where culture is a lever for territorial development and nourishment for the community. It is a magnificent project that preserves traces of the past but projects the city into the future. An ambitious and top-quality project that could fit in any major European capital and helps us imagine the city in a new, grand dimension—not provincial but European ».

“gres art 671 is a project for Bergamo but, above all, with Bergamo,” explains Carlo Pesenti, President of Fondazione Pesenti Ets It arises from our attention to the city, to which my family has been connected for over a century, and aims to contribute to the artistic, cultural, and social development of the territory, in collaboration with its citizens. It is a work of stitching together the neighborhood, the neighborhood to the city, history to the present. Because the vision of the future starts from the memory of our roots ».

gres art 671 opens its doors with SOLARPUNK by NONE Collective, an exhibition that engages visitors with the direct experience of change, offering possibilities and alternatives to the present through perception alone. The exhibition is not just a vision but aims to have an emotional and aesthetic impact while fostering public responsibility.

“Choosing NONE Collective in the year of ‘illuminated city’ Bergamo Brescia Italian Capital of Culture was almost automatic,” explains Francesca Acquati, General Manager of gres art 671. gres art 671 was born from the idea of regenerating a former industrial space through art and culture into a multidisciplinary context, a place of experimentation where languages hybridize by crossing different artistic disciplines with a shared goal: to investigate the contemporary with its complex challenges, trying to build together responses of resilience and transformation. And Solarpunk does exactly this, with the transdisciplinary style typical of NONE, through light environments and multimedia installations, reflecting on the difficult challenges posed by climate change. It tries to create a collective moment of reflection that invites positive and resilient thinking ».
