Since 2018, Fondazione Pesenti has supported the Gender Commission of the Italian Economic Association (SIE), playing a key role in promoting research and awareness activities focused on gender issues within the economic and academic spheres.
With the renewal of the SIE Presidential Council in 2022, the Commission launched a new cycle of initiatives, structured around several key activities:
TUTORIALS
Educational tutorials held during the Annual Scientific Meeting (RSA), aimed at providing practical tools to reduce gender inequality in research and teaching;
DISCUSSION MEETINGS
The event “Being Women Economists”, a platform for dialogue on the gender gap in academia and for sharing experiences and proposals;
PLENARY SESSION
A “Meet the Author” plenary session featuring international keynote speakers engaged in research on gender inequality;
THEMATIC SESSIONS
Special themed sessions by invitation during the RSA, such as the 2023 session on “Women and the Labor Market”;
EVENTS
Public engagement events on gender disparities in financial education, in collaboration with the Bank of Italy, with two editions held in Naples and Pavia.
To ensure the continuity of these initiatives, Fondazione Pesenti has renewed its support to SIE with a contribution for the 2024–2026 period.
