On Tuesday, November 7 at 6:30 PM, gres art 671 will open its doors—a new art and culture center in Bergamo, launched by the Italmobiliare Group, owner of the site, in collaboration with Fondazione Pesenti as part of an ambitious and significant urban regeneration project.
Started in the year of Bergamo Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023, gres art 671 aims to reactivate and return to the community a former industrial area of over 3,000 square meters. The goal is to preserve and convey the history of local production by creating a space for cultural production. gres art 671 will host exhibitions, meetings, concerts, performances, educational activities, and workshops, becoming a place that welcomes and inspires the public, inviting constant interaction.
The project, designed by De8_Architetti (Mauro Piantelli), is based on the principle of preserving the historical traces of the site: recognizing the material and symbolic value of the industrial heritage, the transformation process includes a critical interpretation of the existing structures, exploring their evolutionary potential.
The large interior spaces are inspired by open areas: beneath the gres vaults you will find a square, a portico, and a terrace—microcosms where the public is free to move, pushing the boundaries of the large former industrial space, which becomes a place of gathering, culture, and exchange.
The opening exhibition will be SOLARPUNK by NONE Collective: a show that immerses the audience in future scenarios, offering a new perspective on the challenges of climate change.
Supporting the local community is a core value of Fondazione Pesenti’s mission, committed to promoting and backing cultural, artistic, and recreational initiatives that significantly contribute to the growth and well-being of local communities. This ongoing commitment is rooted in the belief that culture, art, and leisure are fundamental elements to enrich people’s lives and strengthen the social fabric.
