The Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Association was founded in 2009 by a group of Milanese citizens actively engaged in the city’s social and cultural life. Its mission is to highlight the importance of personal commitment by all individuals in fostering a just and free society, grounded in the principles of the Italian Constitution.
To convey this message more effectively, since 2009 the Association has organized the Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Concert at the Teatro Dal Verme, in memory of citizens who defended the freedom of all: Giorgio Ambrosoli (2009), Guido Galli (2010), Libero Grassi (2011), Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa with Manuela Setti Carraro and Domenico Russo (2012), Don Pino Puglisi (2013), Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa (2014), Peppino Impastato (2015), Giancarlo Siani (2016).
Since 2011, the Association expanded its initiatives to actively engage students of all school levels.
This led to the creation of the Day of Civic Virtue—a special event designed to teach young people and the broader public that cultivating civic awareness enriches everyone’s life across all sectors of society.
Fondazione Pesenti supports the Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Association in promoting the 2017 Day of Civic Virtue, scheduled for November 2017.
