Fondazione Pesenti supports the Patronato San Vincenzo in the renovation and reorganization of its reception services

The project through which Fondazione Pesenti supported the Patronato San Vincenzo of Bergamo during a phase of profound transformation of its reception facilities has recently been completed. For decades, the Patronato has been a key institution in the Bergamo area, providing hospitality to people experiencing vulnerability and severe social marginalization, while also offering educational support and pathways toward social inclusion.

Starting in 2024, the Patronato San Vincenzo launched a major renovation project of the buildings located in via Mauro Gavazzeni, home to the organization’s central facility. The works aimed to improve the quality and safety of the spaces dedicated to hospitality, adapting them to current needs and laying the foundations for a renewed reception model increasingly focused on pathways toward housing autonomy, active inclusion, and personal responsibility.

During this transition phase, the need emerged to identify temporary housing solutions in order to ensure continuity of services and safeguard the dignity of guests, avoiding any interruption in the reception and support pathways already in place. Within this context, Fondazione Pesenti’s contribution made it possible to cover the costs of the temporary housing units, allowing the Patronato to continue its activities without compromising the quality of its reception services. The intervention represented a targeted and practical form of support, designed to respond to an immediate need linked to the renovation process while being embedded within a broader vision for the development of services.

Alongside the management of the housing transition, the Patronato continued to implement personalized projects for its guests through the restoration of family ties, collaboration with local social services, and placement in semi-independent housing pathways, supported by an educational team.

This project forms part of a long-standing collaboration between Fondazione Pesenti and the Patronato San Vincenzo. As early as 2020, the Foundation supported an Italian language literacy and advanced learning initiative for foreign citizens hosted by the organization, providing resources for course delivery, teaching materials, and ongoing educational support, with the aim of fostering social inclusion and personal autonomy.

Through this intervention, Fondazione Pesenti reaffirms its commitment to supporting initiatives that address real needs within the local community, strengthening the operational capacity of Third Sector organizations and supporting them through phases of change and reorganization. This approach seeks to place human dignity and the value of territorial networks at the center of social action.
