ll Viaggio della Parola (The Journey of the World) comes to Scampia

In a journey that started from the Expo 2015 Pavilion in Milan, the inscription “Panem nostrum da nobis hodie” was installed in Scampia, continuing the stages of the project to relocate the 25 inscriptions that in 13 different languages conveyed the Holy See Pavilion’s interpretation of the Expo 2015 theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.”

Fondazione Pesenti Ets supports the initiative, sharing the desire to preserve these words and spread “like manna carried by the wind” their strong and positive message to socially and spiritually significant places in various parts of the world.

The project is being actively promoted by Marco Imperadori, advisor to Fondazione Pesenti Ets and professor at the Politecnico di Milano, and his team, and includes Alessio Pesenti of the Brescia-based company Nord Zinc, who created the treatment that enables the metal letters to become particularly resistant to weathering and thus prolong their durability, as well as Quattro Associati architects and Ginette Caron.

The “Word” with its journey has already reached several destinations, including the Oratory of San Luigi in Paderno Franciacorta (BS), the Farm Cultural Park in Favara, the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio in Milan, the Torrione of the Municipality of Forio in Ischia, until arrivingin Guinea Bissau, West Africa, where the support of Fondazione Pesenti Ets continues to be important also for the activities of the new school in the Mission of the Missionary Oblate Fathers of Mary in Cacine.

The official inauguration of the installation in Scampia, Naples is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025.
