In 2024, Fondazione Pesenti supported the project “2+ Million KM” for the fifth consecutive year. The initiative is promoted by Dynamo Camp ETS, Italy’s first facility offering free Recreational Therapy for children and adolescents with chronic illnesses, also involving their siblings and families. Since 2007, Dynamo has provided a safe environment where children can rediscover joy and peace through play and sport.
The challenge “2+ Million KM” was inspired by a letter written by Valentina, a young girl from Catania who attended the Camp in the summer of 2019. Missing the Camp deeply, she wrote that she felt “two million kilometers away.” That powerful feeling sparked the idea to turn distance into a shared mission: collectively covering those kilometers through sports to support Dynamo and make it accessible to everyone. Since then, 2MKM has engaged thousands of participants across Italy, combining a love for movement with the value of solidarity.
Every year, companies, families, friend groups, and individual supporters join in with enthusiasm—walking, running, swimming, cycling, or practicing their favorite sport—to accumulate kilometers and raise funds for the Camp’s sports activities (horseback riding, climbing, archery, etc.). Through a dedicated digital platform, each participant can log their kilometers and track both personal and team progress in real time. Every kilometer represents a step closer to Dynamo, and each donation supports inclusive and fun-filled projects for the children.
At the end of the sporting season, the event concludes with an Open Day at the Camp in Limestre (Tuscany), featuring the awards ceremony for the winning corporate team, which is then invited to experience the magic of Dynamo in person.
Employees of Italmobiliare and Group companies were invited to take part—each through their chosen discipline, whether running, swimming, cycling, or any other sport—to contribute to the 50,000 kilometers that Fondazione Pesenti has already donated in their name.
