Fondazione Pesenti supports the RFK Flagship Event for Mediterranean Challenges project. The initiative is promoted by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Italia, in coordination with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and under the patronage of the City of Milan.
Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is a non-profit organization created in 1968 in Washington by friends and family of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, to carry on his moral legacy and fulfill his dream of a more just and peaceful world. In 2004, the Robert F. Kennedy Center, chaired by Kerry Kennedy, seventh daughter of Robert Kennedy, launched in Italy the educational project “Speak Truth To Power”, a global initiative dedicated to training and raising awareness on the issue of human rights. The following year, thanks to the strong interest from institutions and civil society, the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Italia Association was founded.
Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Italia promotes projects and initiatives with the aim of establishing an effective dialogue between the business community and policies regarding migratory flows, both in the phases of reception and integration and in strengthening international cooperation.
Fondazione Pesenti is among the partners of the Flagship Event for Mediterranean Challenges, titled “Social Responsibility for Mediterranean Challenges: the Business Community for Public Policies and Social Innovation.” The event aimed to facilitate dialogue among institutions, NGOs, and the private sector, to support the implementation of projects that promote the integration process of migrants.
The event took place on June 20, 2017, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, at the Ex-Cisterne Room of the Fabbrica del Vapore (Via Giulio Cesare Procaccini, 4). During the day, 10 projects related to immigration, integration, and cooperation in the Mediterranean were presented by NGOs and Italian associations operating in the field.
The event was organized in collaboration with partners Eni, Middle East Directions Programme – Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute (EUI), sponsors EVIVA, Enel, Poste Italiane, Fondazione Pesenti, and with the support of UNHCR.
