Fondazione Pesenti supports the “SaraCasa” project, promoted by Fondazione Diakonia Onlus—the operational arm of Caritas Diocesana Bergamasca—in favor of women, either alone or with minor children, facing housing and personal hardship. Located at Via Barelli 22, in the Monterosso area of Bergamo, within a villa known as “Father Aldo’s House,” SaraCasa has served for over ten years as a place of welcome, support, and new beginnings.
The project aims to guide women through a path toward autonomy by offering dignified accommodation, meeting basic needs, and providing personalized educational and psychological support.
The goal is to help each woman rebuild a life plan for herself and her children, with ongoing support from specialized staff and volunteers.
Thanks in part to Fondazione Pesenti’s contribution, the new campaign “SaraCasa: A Place to Start Again” seeks to strengthen and further develop the project, ensuring:
- personalized care and support for mothers and children, aimed at overcoming vulnerabilities and building a sustainable future;
- educational support for minors, through the provision of school supplies, textbooks, and access to extracurricular activities essential for healthy growth and social inclusion;
- vocational training and job placement paths for mothers, through professional courses and paid internships;
- a housing guarantee fund to assist women transitioning out of the project and into independent living arrangements.
The operational costs of the project—including utilities, maintenance, staff, and services—are entirely covered by Fondazione Diakonia, which renews its appeal for support to ensure the continuity and quality of services provided.
The collaboration between Fondazione Pesenti and Caritas Diocesana Bergamasca is thus reaffirmed through a shared journey focused on solidarity, education, and social inclusion, with the common goal of restoring hope and opportunity to those facing profound vulnerability.
