Fondazione Cav. Lav. Carlo Pesenti, gathered Milano, has appointed a new Board of Directors, which will remain in office until the approval of the financial statements for fiscal year 2027.
The President, considering the Foundation’s purpose and the nature of current and upcoming initiatives, proposed the appointment of a Charity Committee for the 2025–2027 term, composed of three (3) members, with the responsibilities and functions provided for in Article 17 of the Statute. The proposed members are:
- Giulia Pesenti, already Vice President of the Foundation;
- Paola Pesenti and Giovanni Pesenti (both external to the Board).
The President clarified that the members of the Committee will not be entitled to any compensation, but only to reimbursement of expenses incurred while carrying out their mandate.
In extending his best wishes to the new Board for the work ahead, Carlo Pesenti expressed appreciation for the efforts of the outgoing Board and great satisfaction for the appointment of the new board member, who brings international standing and experience, which will contribute to strengthening the Foundation’s vision and initiatives.

CARLO PESENTI
Born in Milan on March 30, 1963. Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Politecnico di Milano, Master in Economics and Management – Università Bocconi. Married, father of six children. CEO and General Manager of Italmobiliare S.p.A. Besides roles within the Italmobiliare Group (including CEO of Italcementi from 2004 to 2016, when the stake was sold), he served on the Boards of leading publicly traded companies. Read more
GIULIA PESENTI
Representative of the fifth generation of the Pesenti family, active in various social initiatives in collaboration with local organizations, focusing on education as a tool for integration and female empowerment, training young people (including humanities as a tool for understanding complexity), and managing issues related to migration flows. GIORGIO BARBA NAVARETTI
Full Professor of Political Economy at the University of Milan, Scientific Director of the Luca d’Agliano Center for International Studies, and Distinguished Visiting Faculty at SciencesPo, Paris. His research focuses on international economics and development, with significant contributions on multinational enterprises and competitiveness. Read more
DANIELA HAMAUI
Holds a degree in Modern Literature from the University of Milan, professional journalist. The first woman to direct an Italian news magazine (L’Espresso), she created and directed D la Repubblica delle donne, Dcasa, and Album di Repubblica. She was also Editorial Director of Repubblica’s magazines. From May 2017 to the end of 2019, she was Editor-in-Chief of Vanity Fair. Since March 2019, she has been teaching a course on Publishing and Fashion at Naba. Since January 2020, she has been Editorial Consultant for Archivio Magazine. STEFANO PALEARI
Full Professor at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering at the University of Bergamo. He served as Rector of the University of Bergamo from October 2009 to September 2015 and as President of CRUI from 2013 to 2015. From 2016 to 2018, he was Chair of the Coordinating Committee of Human Technopole. On May 2, 2017, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers as Special Commissioner of Alitalia.
