Fondazione Pesenti renews its support for the socio-economic development projects of the Foundation Graines de Sésame and Pokò Energy, which are supported by the Associazione Dounia.
The project by Foundation Graines aims to establish the Centre Tournesol in Po, in the south of the country. The center is dedicated to the cultivation, processing, and preservation of local agricultural products using self-produced renewable energy sources. The initiative also provides employment opportunities for women and technical and vocational training for young people. The project is growing and strengthening in all its functions, including refrigerated food containers, farmers’ housing, a bioengine system, and a water well.
Pokò Energy’s project involves the construction of a well and a school in the village of Mantaka, in the north of the country—a semi-desert area that is difficult to access and completely lacking in water. The initiative is part of a broader effort to introduce innovative agriculture in challenging lands.
