Fondazione Pesenti supports projects in Burkina Faso

Fondazione Pesenti has contributed to socio-economic development projects promoted by Foundation Graines de Sésame and Pokò Energy, both supported by the association Dounia – Culture and Fraternity.

Founded in Rho from an adoption story and strengthened by the commitment of a group of friends, Dounia Association is based on the belief that Africa’s human richness is a vital engine for its development. The organization promotes African culture—especially music, theater, and dance—as a tool for integration, exchange, and empowerment, convinced that cooperation and fraternity are key to building a more equitable future.

The project led by Foundation Graines de Sésame focuses on the creation of the Centre Tournesol in Po, in southern Burkina Faso. The center cultivates, processes, and preserves local agricultural products using self-generated renewable energy sources. It also serves as a valuable employment opportunity for women and as a technical and vocational training hub for local youth.

In parallel, Pokò Energy is working on the construction of a well and a school in the village of Mantaka, in the northern part of the country—a semi-desert, remote area with no access to water. This intervention is essential to tangibly improve the quality of life for the local population.
