Fondazione Pesenti and Fondazione Bergamo nella Storia (“Bergamo in History” Foundation)

The Museo delle Storie di Bergamo (Bergamo Stories Museum) is not just a museum but a true network of historical museums that tell the story of the city and its territory from the Roman era to the 20th century. Through six evocative locations, each with its own identity and unique features, visitors can experience different eras and cultures in Bergamo’s rich history.

Since 2002, the Museo delle Storie di Bergamo has been managed by Fondazione Bergamo nella Storia, born from the synergy between public institutions and private entities united by the common goal of preserving, enhancing, and promoting an invaluable heritage. The Foundation works with dedication to conserve and make the city’s historical memory accessible to the public.

Fondazione Pesenti, aware of the importance of preserving and enhancing historical and cultural heritage, has decided to support the Museo delle Storie di Bergamo as a founding member. This concrete commitment translates into ongoing financial support over the long term, aimed at ensuring the organization’s financial stability.

A journey through time visiting the six museums that make up the network:

  • Civic Tower (Torre Civica): known as the Campanone, it offers a breathtaking view of the city.
  • Palace of the Podestà (Palazzo del Podestà): houses the 16th Century Museum, taking visitors back to the era of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
  • Rocca: an ancient medieval castle, now hosting the 19th Century Museum.
  • Donizetti Museum (Museo Donizettiano): dedicated to the famous composer Gaetano Donizetti, preserving memorabilia, manuscripts, and musical instruments.
