Fondazione Pesenti and the University of Brescia have signed a collaboration agreement concerning the research activities of the interdepartmental center MISTRAL (Integrated Study Models for Health Protection and Prevention in Living and Working Environments).
The Center’s activity is developed according to the principles of interdisciplinarity and has as its main scientific goal the development of approaches that, based on rigorous methodological and technical-scientific foundations, promote, support, and disseminate studies and research aimed at improving the interaction between humans, their work activities, and their living environment, with particular reference to the territory in which the University of Brescia operates. The Center aims, in particular, to be a meeting point for integrated and multidisciplinary research that fundamentally contributes to advancing knowledge regarding the correct assessment, estimation, and management of physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial risks for both the general and working population.
Fondazione Pesenti’s support is directed towards two specific activities of the MISTRAL Center. The first is an editorial initiative involving the publication of a sort of handbook dedicated to patients affected by breast cancer to address pathology, treatments, and reintegration, and the drafting—thanks to the support of occupational medicine clinics in Verona and Brescia—of an awareness protocol on the subject. The second concerns support for experimental research activities aimed at developing a biomonitoring protocol for drinking water purification systems.
