In 2015, Fondazione Pesenti offered its support to a very important cultural event in the city, the exhibition Palma il Vecchio, The Gaze of Beauty, one of the main attractions during EXPO Milan.
The first retrospective exhibition dedicated to Jacopo Negretti, known as Palma il Vecchio (Serina, circa 1480 – Venice, 1528), the exhibition project, curated by Giovanni C.F. Villa and promoted by the Municipality of Bergamo, brought together in Bergamo at the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GAMeC), from March 13 to June 21, 2015, over thirty masterpieces by the artist from Bergamo, coming from the most important Italian and international public and private collections: from the National Gallery in London to the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin and Dresden, from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna to the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg. Also included were works from the English collections of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles of England, from the Uffizi in Florence to the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice.
