ENRICO LETTA AT MANY FAITHS 2017

Friday 6 October 2017 – Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister, and Monsignor Franco Giulio Brambilla theologian and Bishop of Novara, participated in the 2017 edition of “Many Faiths Under the Same Sky”, supported by the Pesenti Foundation, with a speech on “The idea of Europe: somewhere between past dream and present reality”.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 


 
 

What inspired the great and good European project set forth by UE’s founding fathers in the tragic aftermath of World War II? What has stayed the same, and what has changed over time? An account of the aims, prerogatives, opportunities, critical aspects and moral duties of today’s and tomorrow’s Europe.

 
 


 
 

Enrico Letta, a convinced supporter of the European Union, is currently the Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po in Paris and also the President of the Jacques Delors Institute. He explained that when talking about the EU “We must change our perspective, because this means nothing to young people. Faced with new challenges the old answers are no longer enough.”

 
 


 
 

Franco Giulio Brambilla, Bishop of Novara, is Vice President for Northern Italy of the Italian Bishops’ Conference. He was long President of the Theological University of Northern Italy and a professor of Christology and Theological Anthropology.
