The Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Association was founded in 2009 by a group of Milan citizens concerned about the social and cultural life of the city. The aim was to highlight the need to engage everyone’s commitment to develop a social coexistence based on ethics and freedom, in conformity with the fundamental principles of the Italian Constitution.
In order to express this message more effectively, the Association has organized the Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Concert at Teatro Dal Verme since 2009, in memory of citizens who dedicated their lives to defend freedom: Giorgio Ambrosoli (2009), Guido Galli (2010), Libero Grassi 2011), Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa with Manuela Setti Carraro and Domenico Russo (2012), Don Pino Puglisi (2013), Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa (2014), Peppino Impastato (2015), Giancarlo Siani (2016).
Since 2011, the Association’s project has developed various initiatives to involve students at all grade levels. And this is how the Day of Civil Virtue was born, a day aimed at making young people and citizens aware of the importance of civic consciousness as a value improving the lives of everyone.
The Pesenti Foundation supports the Giorgio Ambrosoli Civil Association in promoting the Day of Civil Virtue 2017 scheduled for November 2017.
