Sergio Mattarella inaugurates the Auditorium of the Politecnico di Milano, dedicated to Giampiero Pesenti: “I am pleased to be in this hall named after an important alumnus.”
On June 22, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the new campus and the Auditorium of the Politecnico di Milano were inaugurated, the latter dedicated to Engineer Giampiero Pesenti.
During the event, Mattarella and Ferruccio Resta, Rector of the Politecnico, paid tribute to the figure of Giampiero Pesenti, a graduate of the Milanese university, in whose honor the auditorium was named
On this occasion, Carlo Pesenti, son of Giampiero, President of Fondazione Pesenti, and CEO of Italmobiliare SpA, commented:
“This day will be unforgettable for me, for my children, and for our whole family.
The remembrance of my father’s legacy by the President of the Republic and the Rector of the Politecnico is an extraordinary tribute to his character, his story, and his values.
Naming the auditorium after him strengthens the bond that unites our family with this great Milanese and Lombard institution—a relationship that began in the early years of the last century and has steadily grown over the decades.
I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to the President and my deep appreciation and gratitude to the Rector for this extraordinary event and for choosing to honor the memory of a great entrepreneur, a great engineer, but above all—for me—a great father.”
